Petition to Oust Francesco Melpignano from Kadena Eco Over Unethical Management

To Whom It May Concern,

We, the undersigned members of the Kadena Eco community, request the immediate removal and investigation of Francesco Melpignano from his position within the Kadena Eco management team and all positions related to Kadena. This petition is in response to Mr. Melpignano’s unethical and immoral actions in managing the grant program and Kaddex (now known as EckoDAO). To be clear, the undersigned believes that Francesco should have no place within the Kadena community in the future and Kadena Core should not pursue any business relationship with Melpignano. 

As members of the Kadena Eco community, we have observed and experienced the following unethical actions by Mr. Melpignano:

Misallocation of Grant Funds: Mr Melpignano has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the intended purpose of grant funds, diverting them to projects and individuals that do not align with Kadena Eco’s mission and values. This has resulted in a lack of support for projects that would benefit the community.

Favouritism and Nepotism: Mr Melpignano has been accused of consistently favouring certain individuals and projects, regardless of merit, based on personal relationships and biases. This practice undermines the principles of fairness and transparency on which Kadena Eco prides itself. The fact that ex-employees of Melpignano’s Redwing Labs company founded the EckoDAO team is the most obvious illustration of this. These employees and Melpignano even deleted their employment history on LinkedIn to hide this connection from the community.  

Lack of transparency: The decision-making process regarding the allocation of grants and the development of Kaddex has been consistently opaque, preventing community members from clearly understanding how funds are being distributed and how projects are being prioritized. It is even unclear how much money remains in the $100 million development fund that Melpignano manages.

Unprofessional Conduct: Multiple members of the Kadena community have reported instances of Mr Melpignano’s unprofessional behaviour. This has created a toxic environment that is detrimental to the community’s overall health and growth.

Mismanagement of EckoDAO: Mr. Melpignano’s direction of the Kaddex project has been characterized by delays and a lack of clarity. This has resulted in a loss of confidence in the project and has put the long-term success of the EckoDAO and Kadena communities at risk. There are also claims that Melpignano and others have received massive consultant fees from EckoDAO, suggesting potential embezzlement of EckoDAO funds. 

The aforementioned actions have significantly damaged the reputation, integrity, and progress of the Kadena community. We believe that Mr Malpignano’s continued involvement in managing Kadena Eco is detrimental to the community’s best interests.

Therefore, we, the undersigned, respectfully demand that Francesco Melpignano be immediately removed from his position within Kadena Eco management and that a thorough and transparent investigation into his actions be conducted to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of resources within the community moving forward.
